Stick a fork in 'em; they're done.

Redskins 13 - Bengals 20

In what I have to say is a brilliant start to my vacation, the 1-14 Cinncinnati Bungals knocked my beloved Redskins out of playoff contention. There is nothing quite so deflating as getting up at 5 am, excited about hopping on a plane, doing last minute packing and preparation, and sitting back to relax for the last half hour or so and watching the Skins get spanked by a bad team. Of course the way the Skins are playing these days, bad teams look like Super Bowl contenders. I think I would have felt much better had the Skins been this year's Lions rather than having them unexpectedly get my hopes only by once again crushing them by going 1-6 down the back stretch.

Hey Vinny, how those draft picks lookin' now, ya putz?!?

Playoff hopes die with a whimper.

Washington 10 - Baltimore 24

Hopes raised. Hopes dashed. Welcome to another season of Redskins football. After losing 4 out their last five games, the Washington Redskins can pretty much kiss off any hope of making the playoffs. It would take a miracle of biblical proportions for they Skins to have a hope; more likely several miracles. The first miracle would be the offense actually accomplishing ANYTHING! Then, of course, the Skins would have to win the remaining three games along with everyone else in the NFC losing all their games. 'Nuff said.

Pathetic.

Giants 23 - Redskins 7

I don't know what's up with the Redskins, but they looked horrible on both sides of the line. The recievers couldn't catch, the line couldn't block, the defense, normally the strong point of the team, was simply bad. The Skins barely beat bad teams and can't even come close to beating good teams. I'm thinking a trip to the playoffs is rapidly becoming a pipe dream. The Skins get the Ravens next week, which will probably be another loss because the team simply can't play against good defenses. Three winnable games finish the season, but that will probably not be good enough. The promise of the early season is withering on the vine. Sigh.
