I BELIEVE, BABY! I BELIEVE!!!!

REDKINS 24 - EAGLES 17

Oh my oh my! Seven minutes into Sunday's game against the Eagles, the Redskins were down 14-0, looked out of sync, and couldn't seem to anything right. Then, ever so slowly, the Skins started to come alive, started to bash the Eagles in the mouth. A drive in the second quarter for a field goal began a 23-0 run that completely dominated the Eagles on both sides of the ball. Clinton Portis ran for 145 yards and a TD (against what WAS the best run defense in the league), Chris Cooley broke out for a career high 109 yards receiving and the TD that put the Skins ahead for good. Santana Moss, the big play guy who's been so spectacular this season, had only one catch (called back by a penalty on rookie receiver Devin Thomas) made his mark with spectacular downfield blocking. Antawan Randel-El, despite dropping a number of passes, threw the pass that Cooley caught for the touchdown. It was beautiful! The defense, missing four, count 'em FOUR, starters, held the powerful Eagles offense to only three points after the first quarter. Brian Westbrook, one of the top five running backs in the league, was held to 33 yards rushing and 51 yards receiving. Gotta love it!

Now, after winning four straight and beating two of our three division rivals ON THE ROAD, the Skins get the doormats of the league: St. Louis and Cleveland at home and Detroit on the road. If this is the team I'm thinking it is, we'll thrash those three (although nothing is guaranteed these days) and come home to play Pittsburgh before the bye (Sorry Mom, but you gonna lose!). The possiblity of being 8-1 going into the bye week is there. Will it be so? Time will tell. I hate playing the bad teams because every now and then they jump up of the ground and kick you square in the balls.

That said, I've drunk the Kool-Aid, and it was GOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!

GO REDSKINS!!!
